OTE delegation next week in Bucharest to negotiate Romtelecom shares deal

A delegation of Greek telecom giant OTE will be next Wednesday in Bucharest, to negotiate the purchase of 46 pc of Romtelecom shares, Communications Minister Valerian Vreme said yesterday, according to Jurnalul National.

According to the minister, RCS&RDS company too voiced an interest for the shares, but the most feasible solution is to list the shares on the stock exchange. The Ministry of Communications announced last November that the Romanian state wants to sell its residual stake in Romtelecom, and invited OTE to make an offer. Another variant would be to float the shares on the bourse. At that moment, Minister Vreme said the shares held by the state in Romtelecom were worth EUR 1 bln.
