Downpour was expected to be falling over most of Romania for 24 hours, starting Sunday night, accompanied by hail and strong winds, according to the National Meteorological Administration. The unsettled weather will gradually spread from the western regions across most of the country. The heavy showers will be accompanied by thunderstorms, spells of gusty wind and spotty hail in Banat, Crisana, Maramures, Transylvania, northern Moldavia and western Oltenia. Such weather developments will spread during Monday and into Thursday to the southern half of Moldavia, Muntenia and eastern Oltenia, where scattered water levels of 20-25l/sq m are expected. (A.C.)
