Jiri Menzel, an Oscar-winning director and the living legend of Czech cinema, will be in Bucharest today, to introduce his films, to be presented during the retrospect organized by the Czech Centre, until May 19, at the Studio Cinema.
“This is already my fourth visit to Bucharest and it gives me great pleasure to come back here.
The more so on this occasion, as a close friend of mine, Ji?i Sitler, became the Czech ambassador to Bucharest,” Jiri Menzel, who visits Bucharest accompanied by his wife, Olga, stated, quoted by Cinemagia. “I am eager to meet both the Romanian public and the directors here, who represent this country proudly, all across the world,” Menzel added.
The retrospect will kick off tonight, at 8pm, with a screening of “Memories” (1980).
