Vodafone Romania registered a total of 9,196,742 customers at the end of the financial year 2010/2011 corresponding to a decrease of 533.000 customers as compared to same period previous year, a press release informs. The drop in customer base resulted from the disconnections of the inactive prepaid SIMs and a restatement of the base due to the application of new reporting standards. Postpaid customers accounted for 37 pc and prepaid for 63 pc of Vodafone Romania’s total customer base. While revenues continued to drop year on year in the context of the economic challenges that affected our customers, the rate of revenue decline has slowed down quarter on quarter showing a long term recovery trend of the market.
Total revenue amounted to EUR 835.6 M, a decrease of 3.9 pc as compared to the same quarter last year and 9.3 pc on a full year basis. Service revenue reached EUR 797.2 M at March 31, 2011, a decrease of 6.6 per cent as compared to same quarter last year, and a drop of 10.6 pc on a full year basis. EBITDA was EUR 305.6 M for the financial year 2010/ 2011, which represents a 22.8 pc year on year decrease. Mobile ARPU (Average Revenue per User) was EUR 6.5 for the financial year ended March 31, 2011, and EUR 6.1 for the quarter ended March 31, 2011.
