FEN complains against the government at the European Commission

The Federation of National Education (FEN) sent the European Commission a formal complaint against the Romanian government, over the non-observance of final and irrevocable orders issued by Romanian courts in favour of the personnel working in the Education sector. According to FEN, this is a serious infringement of the Convention on Human Rights and its additional protocols. “Through its decisions, the government infringed all the rights of employees. As we are unable to defend our rights in Romania, even in court, we decided to take the matter to international bodies. We hope that European institutions will take note of this state of fact, inadmissible for a state that enforces the rule of law, and will compel the government to respect the rights won by employees in court and the international conventions Romania is part of,” FEN President Constantin Ciosu mentions in a press release.
