Bosch seeks to build new plant in Romania

Bosch is set to build yet another factory in Romania, a Greenfield investment, and to expand the component manufacturing unit at Blaj, Mediafax cited Brigitte Eble, General Manager at Robert Bosch Tool Corporation, the Romanian subsidiary of the Bosch Group, to have said yesterday. “We will send the Finance Ministry the documentation on our investment intentions in Romania, which regard the construction of a new factory, as well as the expansion of the Bosch Rexroth plant in Blaj.

The focus is on some large investments, yet we cannot give more insight into the matter as of now. Romania’s Government has investment support programmes, and we will call on it to help us with such facilities towards fulfilling the project,” Eble said during a conference call to announce the company’s financial results. According to people familiar with the company, the Greenfield investment will deal with the automotive sector. The Romanian subsidiary of the Bosch Group has in view hiring up to 300 people at the Rexroth factory and the Communications Centre in Timisoara. Bosch Romania estimates for this year a business turnover higher by 7 per cent than last year’s to RON 172 M.
