Goran Bregovic will offer a concert within TIFF Sibiu 2011, on June 16, the organizers of the Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF) announced. The celebrated artist will climb, starting 9pm, on the stage in Sibiu’s Great Square, alongside the Wedding and Funeral Orchestra, in a show meant to celebrate the marriage between music and film. The concert will be followed by the screening of the production “Ursul” (The Bear), directed by Dan Chisu, whose soundtrack bears Goran Bregovic’s signature. The public in Sibiu will have a chance to listen to some of the artist’s best-known tunes, included on reference albums, such as “Tales and Songs from Weddings and Funerals” (2002), “Balkanica” (2000), “Silence of the Balkans” (1998), “Song Book” (2000), “Music for Films” (2000), “Ederlezi” (1998), “Underground” (1995), as well as songs from the soundtrack of Dan Chisu’s film.
The price of an entrance ticket to the two events in the Great Square is RON 15. Tickets will be put on sale on May 23 and can be purchased from the TIFF Info Point. TIFF 2011 will take place in Cluj-Napoca, between June 3 and 12, and in Sibiu, between June 15 and 19.
