Photo show Snapshots: Flashbacks and Opportunities

The Norwegian Embassy and Innovation Norway, in partnership with the Bucharest University of Fine Arts, invites art-lovers to a photography exhibition titled “EEA & Norway Grants – Instantanee: retrospective si oportunitati”. The exhibition will ru between May 24 and June 4 at the National Museum of Contemporary Art (MNAC), in the Foto Anexa building. The opening is scheduled for Tuesday, May 24. The guests will include HE Oystein Hodvkinn, the Norwegian Ambassador in Romania, as well as representatives of Innovation Norway and the Bucharest Art Faculty.

The exhibition will include a series of photographs and visual art works inspired by projects supported by the Norwegian government, implemented in Romania. Between 2009 and 2011, a series of public and private bodies, as well as NGOs, from various sectors, benefited from funding. The list includes 69 individual projects and 115 small-scale projects run by NGOs, from fields such as environment protection, human resources, culture, healthcare, some of which will be presented within the exhibition.

The young artists explored, in a visual medium, the dynamics of the implementation process. The result of this artistic and sociologic endeavour is a contemporary art exhibition, made up of various types of exhibits – photographs, collages, installations -, displayed in a modern, unconventional setting. The project is coordinated by Professor Iosif Kiraly, and the artists featured in the exhibition include Daiana Anghel, Emil Avasilichioaiei, Bogdan Bordeianu, Claudiu Cobilanschi, Daniel Djamo, Simona Dumitru, Irina Ghenu, Delia Gheorghiu, Sabin Garea, Cosmina Ivanov, Laura Ruczui and Alexandra-Cristina Stroescu.
