After winning the League I title and the Romanian Cup last year, this season CFR Cluj did not even qualify for the Europa League. The failure has prompted the club’s leaders to start a new campaign of procurement in Portugal. That campaign was opened by securing the services of head coach Jorge Costa. “He’s not the most expensive head coach we’ve had until now but he’s interested in working here. I’ve signed a two-year contract with him, I hope he’ll have good ties with the players. He told me to make the contract as we like because he has confidence in his own strength. He plays very offensively although he was a formidable fullback. With Jorge Costa coming here our relations with FC Porto are strengthened even more,” CFR Cluj President Iuliu Muresan stated for sport.ro.
