Motor glider crashes in Galati, pilot killed

A motor glider crashed on Thursday morning in Scanteiesti locality, Galati County, Mediafax informs. The pilot was killed in the crash. According to preliminary information offered by Eugen Chirita, spokesperson of the Galati County Emergency Situations Inspectorate (ISU), the crash took place around 5.15 AM. The motor glider was licensed in the Republic of Moldova, its pilot being a Moldovan citizen. “We continue to work in order to identify him,” Chirita stated. Unofficial sources pointed out that the motor glider was packed with cigarettes from the Republic of Moldova, cigarettes that would have been sold on the black market in Galati.
