The old man who called the ambulance 20,000 times has died

Dumitru Covaci, an inhabitant of Husi, Vaslui County, who was fined for calling the ambulance more than 20,000 times, has died Tuesday. Fearing a new fine, the old man – who was suffering from a number of serious afflictions – did not call the paramedics this last time, reads the Libertatea tabloid. Tuesday night the man once again had health problems, but hesitated to dial 112, fearing another fine. In just minutes, he went into cardiac arrest and died.
