USD 400 M-contract for Daewoo Mangalia shipyard

Eyal Ofer signed a contract with the Daewoo Mangalia shipyard for the building of four ships, with a TEU 9,000-capacity, an investment estimated at USD 400 M, with the option of supplementing the commission by another four ships, according to a press release remitted to “Nine O’Clock”. The order is to be delivered in approximately two years since the signing of the contract, that is, the ships have to be completed by the end of 2013. This investment is part of an ample order of eight container vessels and six optional extras for which the shipyards Daewoo Mangalia (Romania) and Hanjin Heavy Industries (South Korea) have been commissioned.
