BCR Asigurari de Viata subscribed gross premiums of RON 89.5 M in Q1

BCR Asigurari de Viata Vienna Insurance Group subscribed, in the first quarter, gross premiums of RON 89.5 M, rising by approx. 10 pc compared to the same interval of 2010, the insurer announced, yesterday, in a press release. The assets under management amounted to RON 554.2 M, 47.3 pc above figures reported for Q1 of 2010, while the company’s operating profit amounted to RON 7.1 M. “We have two considerable advantages: an excellent partnership with Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR) and our affiliation to the Vienna Insurance Groupe”, Florina Vizinteanu, chair of BCR Asigurari de Viata Vienna Insurance Group’s Board of Directors, stated. BCR Asigurari de Viata is a member of the Austrian Vienna Insurance Group (VIG), which also owns, on the local market, Asirom, Omniasig and BCR Asigurari. VIG reported, in the first quarter, EUR 5 M-losses in Romania, compared to EUR 7.4 M-earnings before taxes in the same interval last year, while gross premiums slumped by 2 pc, at EUR 144.5 M.
