Deputy Mircia Giurgiu leaves the PDL group

The leader of the PDL group in the Chamber of Deputies, Mircea Toader yesterday announced that Mircia Giurgiu has left the group. The previous day, PDL vice-president Sever Voinescu had asked the press to stop presenting Mircia Giurgiu as a representative of PDL, after the National Permanent Bureau decided to expel him from the party. Giurgiu was proposed for expulsion twice, but the decision has not been validated so far. Giurgiu supported the no-confidence motion initiated by the Opposition in June 2010. Last week, his name was on a list of MPs that might defect from PDL to the Opposition camp
