Future car tax must observe the ECHR verdict

The future car tax will have to comply with the decisions of international institutions, Public Finance Minister Gheorghe Ialomitianu said yesterday, quoted by Realitatea.net. “There are several variants. The Environment Ministry must come with the best variant and the government will make the decision. I say that we must make a decision about observing the ECHR verdict, and this is the most important thing for Romania. Romania must comply with the decisions of international bodies. Impact analyses are being made. Romania provides sources for compensations, it can reschedule them,” Ialomitianu mentioned. Last week, the government announced it will modify the legislation that regulates the first sale car tax in accord with the decision of the European Court of Justice, through an act that will probably be adopted this week.
