The Minister of Administration and Internal Affairs, Traian Igas, stated, on Monday, in the Democratic Liberal Party (PDL)’s National Standing Bureau meeting, that ministers and state secretaries would be subject to periodic evaluations and, if they do not conform to the norms, they would be replaced. “Every person appointed to a certain office, from ministers to state secretaries, is to undergo a periodic evaluation and those found wanting will be replaced. It is a normal thing, after all, to be a subject to an evaluation, when you hold a public office, and, if you do not meet the standards, to be asked to step down,” Igas stated. When asked whether there were any ministers in this position, Igas replied: “For the time being, there is no evaluation”.
