Romanians win Top Dance Song trophy at Billboard Music Awards

Edward Maya and Vika Jigulina won the Top Dance Song trophy at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards, offered on Sunday night, in Las Vegas, a press release, quoted by Mediafax, announces. The song co-signed by the two, “Stereo Love”, was designated the winner in the Top Dance Songs category, in which the famous Lady Gaga also competed, with two songs.
Awards were handed, during the Billboard Music Awards gala, to artists ranking in the top positions of the Billboard chart during February 28, 2010, and March 1, 2011.

“Stereo Love” first entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the 93rd position and managed to climb to No. 16 in the prestigious American chart, based on records sold and radio appearances. The single “Stereo Love” won the gold record in Belgium and Finland, the platinum record in Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, the US and Canada and a double platinum record in Spain and Italy.

Eduard Marian Ilie, a.k.a. Edward Maya, born on June 29, 1986, in Bucharest, is a Romanian producer, singer and composer. Vika Jigulina, born, as Victoria Corneva, on February 18, 1983, in Cahul, Moldova, is a Romanian-based producer, singer and DJ.
