Romanian Post Office to be restructured in 2013

The Administrative Board of the Romanian Post Office discussed yesterday a restructuring plan that seeks to prepare the company for the liberalization of post office services on January 1, 2013, Communications Minister Valerian Vreme told Mediafax. “One of the restructuring plan’s consequences will be the disappearance of several leadership offices from the Post Office’s organizational structure. Likewise, the goal is to make the organizational structure more flexible and adapted to developing an integrated information system in all of its units,” Vreme stated while attending the ‘Day of Communications” conference. At the same time, Vreme stated that the Post Office will resume the tender for the procurement of an integrated information system.

In March the National Council for Solving Complaints (CNSC) decided to cancel the EUR 14.9 M tender that the Romanian Post Office organized for an integrated information system after it admitted the complaints filed by six companies and a law firm.
