Tuca Zbârcea & Asociatii has won three out of the 13 awards granted during the Lawyers’ Gala event organized by Ziarul Financiar on the 24th of May, according to a press release remitted to Nine O’Clock. With revenues of EUR 22.4 million, the firm has been acknowledged as the top financial performer in the Romanian legal market for the second year in a row. It also won the award for the largest transaction in agribusiness and fast moving consumer goods (FMGC), further to the successful completion of the acquisition by the French group Sofiprotéol/Saipol of the local company Expur S.A. With an estimated value of EUR 85 million, the transaction was coordinated by Florentin Tuca, Managing Partner and Cristian Radu, Managing Associate. Tuca Zbârcea & Asociatii received a third award for the largest online transaction of the past year, namely the acquisition by the Spanish investment fund GED of Millennium Tour SRL’s online reservation business (for air travelling, accommodation, car rentals, travel insurance) conducted through well-known local websites such as paravion.ro, BileteLowCost.ro, HotelMania.ro, as well as through the foreign ”paravion” domains.
Second in the top of highest incomes during 2010 comes NNDKP, a law firm that also received an award for its role in the biggest real estate transaction of last year, more precisely for the consulting services it provided as part of the largest financing granted to a company, except the loans provided to the multinationals present on the local market, Mediafax reports. The third largest income belonged to ‘Musat & Asociatii.’ Ziarul Financiar also gave awards for the activity of law firms in the mergers & acquisitions sector. ‘Bostina si Asociatii’ firm received the prize for the biggest transaction in the energy sector last year, for assisting Global International 2000 in the acquisition of the Giurgiu Cogeneration Plant, while ‘Mircea Andrei & Asociatii’ was awarded for assisting the Giurgiu County Council in the same deal. The award for the largest transaction on the retail market in 2010 went to Noerr, for assisting Lidl to purchase the Plus chain of supermarkets. The prize for the biggest IT&C transaction of 2010 was granted to ‘White & Case,’ for assisting ABC Data in the purchase of Scop Computers, and to ‘Popoviciu, Nitu & Asociatii’ for assisting the shareholders of Scop Computers to sell the majority stake.
