The Basarab Pass will be inaugurated, at the latest, on June 3, after the final endurance tests are performed, in the following days, the builders stated, quoted by Realitatea.net. From an initial contract of EUR 134 M, the pass ended up costing EUR 255 M, that is, nearly twice the initial price. Nevertheless, the Bucharest mayor, Sorin Oprescu is reluctant to provide a definitive date, after two ‘false alarms’ in March and April.
