Premiere: “Romeo and Juliet” rock music-hall

“Romeo and Juliet” is the first rock music-hall to be presented by a professional music-hall institution in Romania, after composer Gerard Presgurvic rewrote Shakespearean verse and combined it with pop and rock in a modern adaptation of the iconic play. The performance will take place tomorrow, May 31, and marks the music-hall’s first presentation in Romania, by which Bucharest joins the wide circle of countries where it was presented and met with tremendous success. For this production, the National Operetta Theatre invited a team of artists and specialists from the Budapest Operetta Theatre, the team which ensured the Hungarian version’s success.

Venue: “Ion Dacian” National Operetta Theatre, 7 pm; Address: 2, Nicolae Balcescu Blvd.; Running time: 2h 45min
