Metrorex buys energy without auction

Energy provider Petprod will provide electricity to Bucharest subway operator Metrorex until August, under a contract worth RON 11.6 M (VAT exclusive) concluded by direct negotiation, without a public announcement, Adevarul newspaper informs. The contract will be effective during June 1 – August 31, 2011 and is about delivering 44,500 MWh, i.e. 260 RON/MWh (VAT exclusive). Petprod controls 2 pc of the competition-driven market of energy providers. It supplies electricity to Metrorex since June 2010.
