Teacher gets arrested for taking bribes

A teacher from Giurgiu was arrested yesterday for 29 days on corruption charges, after he was caught taking RON 1,000 as bribe from two female students in exchange of promoting them at two school disciplines. Police sources quoted by Mediafax say the teacher (51) asked and received sums between RON 300 and 600 from 12 students of the XIII-th grade, in order to give them marks that would allow them to graduate the high-school, and to give them old projects from the high-school archive which they would present at the Baccalaureate exam. The teacher was involved in acts of corruption in 2007 too, added the source.
