Almost 700 tons of fruits and vegetables confiscated

Financial Guard inspectors confiscated yesterday morning approximately 700 tons of vegetables and fruits while 34 trucks were taking them into Bucharest, Mediafax informs, quoting a National Fiscal Administration Agency (ANAF) communiqué. The fruits and vegetables were confiscated after problems with their paperwork were discovered. In this context, the Financial Guard instituted precautionary measures for a VAT recovery that totals RON 1.5 M. Since the confiscated merchandise is perishable, it will be sold by public finance offices in 24 hours, the communiqué adds.
