Genius of logic, Doctor Honoris Causa of the University of Bucharest

Friday, June 3, 2011, the University of Bucharest will grant the title of Doctor Honoris Causa to one of the most important and most influential analytic philosophers of the latter half of the 20th century, Saul Kripke. A professor at the City University of New York, Saul Kripke made, during a career spanning over 50 years, fundamental contributions to the field of modal logic and is the founder of “possible- worlds semantics”, being considered “a genius of logic”. The event will take place in the University of Bucharest’s Senate Hall (Faculty of Law, 36-46 Mihail Kogalniceanu Blvd., sector 5), starting at 1pm.
