Head of state, declared persona non grata in Jiu Valley

The League of Mining Pensioners’ Union (LSPM) on Wednesday declared President Traian Basescu persona non grata in Jiu Valley, according to Realitatea.net. The decision was made because the state budget was balanced only by salary and pension cuts, without any real measures to stimulate growth. League representatives said they would send a letter to the presidential administration, to inform Basescu of their decision. “All of us agreed unanimously to declare Basescu persona grata, because of the fact he uses any occasion to consolidate the state budget by cutting salaries and pensions in any manner possible,” LSPM president Ion Hortopan said.
