Friendly: USA-Spain 0-4

Spain enjoyed a comfortable 4-0 win over an under-strength USA in a friendly in Foxborough last week-end. Santi Cazorla scored either side of an Alvaro Negredo strike as Spain went 3-0 up in the first half, and half-time substitute Fernando Torres wrapped things up midway through the second half. USA, missing the likes of Landon Donovan and Carlos Bocanegra as they played only three days before launching their CONCACAF Gold Cup campaign, looked overawed in the early stages as Spain piled forward.“It couldn’t get any worse than it was in the first half,” said USA goalkeeper Tim Howard. “When you play the best team in the world, they can make you look silly at times. If we win the Gold Cup in a couple of weeks, nobody will remember this.”
