Italian President to visit Bucharest in September

Italian President Giorgio Napolitano is going to make a state visit to Romania in September, the Ambas­sador of Italy in Bucharest, Mario Cospito, announced during the reception celebrating the National Day of his country as well as 150 years since the unification of Italy. On the occasion, the Ambassador reiterated Italy’s support for Romania in its effort of integration into the Schengen area, as well as in the fulfilment of all conditions under the Mechanism of Cooperation and Verification. PM Emil Boc highlighted the important Italian presence in Romania, as well as of the Romanian community in the Peninsula.
