The wife of the secretary general of the Democratic Liberal Party (PDL), Ioan Oltean, is a shareholder, alongside the former state secretary in the Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism (MDRT), Ioan Andreica, in SC Euroland SA, whose activity is investigated by the National Anti-Corruption Directorate (DNA) prosecutors. Ioan Oltean confirmed, on Friday, in Bistrita, that his wife was a shareholder in the company in question, but stated he did not know what the object of the DNA investigation was, as his wife had not been asked any questions so far. When asked whether, after the case of the former Labour Minister, Ioan Botis, who resigned in the wake of a scandal involving European funds, and in the context of DNA investigations targeting Ioan Andreica and two PDL representatives on the Bistrita-Nasaud County Council, he considered this was a political attack against him, Oltean replied: “I cannot say. Anything is possible in politics. I wish to think there are no vendettas. I do not condone political vendettas”.
