MADR: After grain, reverse charge on vegetables as well

Romania will petition the European Commission (EC) to apply the VAT reverse charge system to vegetables as well, after the European Executive approved this measure for grain, the Agriculture Minister, Valeriu Tabara, stated, yesterday, in a press conference, Mediafax reports. The Government decided to apply the reverse charge system to grain and industrial plants as of June 1, 2011 for about two years, and prime-minister Emil Boc claims this measure, which obtained all necessary approvals from the EU, is one of the most effective means to oppose tax evasion.
