Romanian-German poetry evenings

As of tomorrow, until Saturday, Bucharest, Brasov and Sibiu will host four evenings of poetry readings, with the participation of four German poets and eight Romanian ones. Goethe-Institut and the German Book Centre in Bucharest, in collaboration with “Poesis international”, set out to encourage dialogue between German and Romanian poets, representatives of literary generations characterized by dynamism and non-conventional artistic techniques. Each author will read a selection of his/her latest poems. The reading in the original language will be followed by translations of the poems into Romanian and, respectively, German. On this occasion, the 5th issue of the “Poesis international” magazine will also be launched. The translations into German are signed by Eva Ruth Wemme and Ernest Wichner, while the Romanian ones are signed by Nora Iuga, Maria Irod, Andrei Anastescu and Alexandru Al. Sahighian. Translation into Romanian and German will be provided, during the readings.
