The Senate’s plenary session was suspended yesterday after ruling coalition MPs walked out, angry to have lost a vote against the opposition. The opposition voted to introduce on the agenda the appointment of a civil society representative in the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM). Before ruling coalition MPs’ walkout, the opposition was able to validate the appointment of Corina Dumitrescu to the position. The validation was only a formality, as a vote in her favour had already been given in a previous session, according to Mediafax. (A.C.)
