RON down to March 17 low

The national currency depreciated yesterday and foreign players continued closing their positions on the RON, so that the exchange rate was fluctuating around RON 4.1750/EUR at the ending of the session, RON 0.02 above Tuesday’s rate, Mediafax reports. It is the lowest quotation since March 17. Foreign currency transactions rapidly pushed rates down to RON 4.1560-4.1580/EUR, after demand was counteracted by a local bank’s euro sales, which resulted in an ebbing rate, down to a minimum of RON 4.1525/EUR.
