Orange and Vodafone were granted, by a court ruling issued last month, a suspension of the enforcement of the Competition Council (CC) decision, by which the two companies were dealt, this year, fines of EUR 34.8 M and, respectively, EUR 28.3 M, for abuse of a dominant position, HotNews reports. The enforcement of the decision is suspended until the court of first instance issues a final ruling. According to the competition law, the court can issue such a ruling only under pain of the defendants’ paying a bail amounting to 30 pc of the total fine, which means Orange and Vodafone had to pay jointly EUR 18.9 M.
