Friendly: Paraguay vs. Romania on Saturday

After playing against Brazil on Wednesday, the national team will continue its South American tour and will play against Paraguay on Saturday. The team still lacks a head coach, set to be coordinated by Stefan Iovan and Emil Sandoi.

The game is important because a win against Paraguay would place Romania in bowl 3 during the draws for the World Cup 2014 qualifiers, informs. After the past week’s games the last team in bowl 3 is Hungary with 603 points. If Romania loses it will total 571 points, if it finishes the game in a tie it will total 586 points and if it wins it will total 615 points. Thus, a win against Paraguay would put Romania in bowl 3, adds.
The draws will take place on July 30, 2011.

The friendly will take place on June 11 at 4 PM (11 PM Romanian time) on Asuncion’s ‘Defensores del Chaco’ stadium.
