Hooverphonic back in Bucharest in new line-up

The Belgian trio Hooverphonic will offer, tonight, starting 11pm, a concert at Bucharest’s Fratelli Studio, and organizers announce the doors open at 9pm. The Belgian trio thus returns to Romania in the new line-up – Alex Callier, Raymond Geerts and Noémie Wolfs -, on a tour to promote their latest album, “The Night Before”.

The band’s style rapidly evolved to the point where it can no longer be contained within the boundaries of one genre. From trip-hop on their debut album, “New Stereophonic Sound Spectacular” (1996), to electro fusion on “Blue Wonder Power Mill” (1998) or acoustic arrangements on “The Magnificent Tree” (2000), the band’s sound has been constantly evolving. The single “The Night Before”, launched last October, was the band’s first recording with their current soloist, Noémie Wolfs.

Their music has always seemed tailor-made for cinema. “2 Wicky” appears on several film soundtracks (“I Know What You Did Last Summer”, “Permanent Midnight”, “Stealing Beauty”). The song was also featured on the soundtrack of the series “Entourage”, whereas “Eden” was featured on the soundtracks to “I Still Know What You Did Last Summer” and the series “La Femme Nikita”.

Tickets, priced RON 110 (in the ring) or 180 (on the podium, with table seats), can be purchased in the Eventim network, Germanos, Vodafone and Orange shops, Carturesti and Humanitas bookshops, and online, on the www.eventim.ro website.
