The teenager that was resuscitated 45 minutes by a SMURD crew Monday, after drowning in the Bistrita River, died Wednesday night at the Intensive Care ward of the Bistrita-Nasaud Emergency County Hospital, where he was kept alive by machines. The boy drowned when the Bistrita suddenly swelled, following a controlled spill through the Colibita dam. A SMURD team resuscitated him for 45 minutes and the boy (16) returned to life. According to the local mayor, the teenager could not know about the water discharge, because nobody announces such events. “The people of Apele Romania open their floodgates whenever they want. They never warn us, although many serious situations occurred in the past, with drowned people and destroyed carts,” said the mayor, quoted by Mediafax.
