The American band will be playing for the first time in Romania, on Sunday, July 10, in the Constitution Square.
After an impressive career, spanning nearly three decades, Bon Jovi are still going strong. Following insistent demands from the Romanian public, the legendary American band added Bucharest to the map of their European tour.
Bon Jovi’s tour started promising enough after their 2010 success, which had them ranking as the musical box-office leader, according to Billboard and Pollstar, a title they claim for the second time in only three years. The band’s tour includes concerts in the United States, Canada and Europe. The Grammy award-winning band reported global sales of over 125 million records and has offered more than 2,700 concerts in over 50 countries, for 35 million-strong fans.
“Bon Jovi Greatest Hits” – a retrospect of the past three decades – went straight to no. 1 in November 2010 and sold more copies within the first week since its launch than “Cross Road”, an album launched in 1994, which sold over 21 million copies. As regards past records, the “Lost Highway Tour” ranked as the no. 1 tour in 2008.
There’s more good news for the band’s Romanian fans. Bon Jovi’s guitarist, Richie Sambora, who had checked into rehab in late April, was released and he would most likely join the band on the European tour.
The concert is organized by East European Entertainment and Marcel Avram, in collaboration with D&D East Entertainment. Within two months since the tickets were put on sale, Romanian music-lovers rushed to buy them and, by now, tickets in the Golden Circle category are already sold out.
Furthermore, out of the over 20,000 tickets sold, 1,500 were sold in Bulgaria, proof that the band’s fans in the neighbouring country were waiting at least as eagerly for the tickets to be put on sale. Alongside Bulgaria, tickets were sold to fans in Serbia, Hungary and Austria.
Tickets are available exclusively in the Eventim network, in partner shops and online, on www.eventim.ro. The event organizers and Eventim advise us to purchase tickets only for authorised shops.
The concert’s official sponsor is Vodafone, the official beer for the event is Ciuc Premium, and media partners are Rock FM and Prima TV.
