Kasabian, Within Temptation, Nick Warren, Tiga and Borgore are the first artists confirmed in the line-up of this year’s edition of the Peninsula Festival, to take place in Targu Mures, in the vicinity of the Weekend Leisure Complex, between August 25 and 28, the organizers informed. The festival will include nearly 70 concerts.
On Friday, August 26, the festival will bring, in Targu Mures, Kasabian – voted, in 2010, the best band of the world, by Q Magazine. The indie rock concert offered by Leicestershire band tempts us with a number of interesting songs – one of the singles from their 2010 album, “West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum”, is titled “Vlad, the Impaler” – and is the only recital the Brits have announced in Eastern Europe so far.
On the last day of the festival, August 28, the festival will be graced with the presence of the Dutch band Within Temptation. The band’s style is a perfect mixture of elegance, melodrama and grandiose symphonic sound. Fans will have a chance to hear the unmistakable voice of the soloist, Sharon den Adel, delighting us, for the first time, with songs from the band’s latest album, “The Unforgiving”, sold in over 100,000 records.
The British DJ Nick Warren (who made his debut as a DJ for Massive Attack and is considered a “godfather” of house) and Tiga (the Montreal guru of electro music) will be mixing at the Peninsula Tuborg Green Fest, on Saturday August 27, and Sunday August 28.
The Israeli artist Asaf Borger, a.k.a. Borgore, will be entertaining dubstep fans doing what he knows best on the last day of the festival. The polyvalent DJ – he learned how to play the piano when he was three, then moved on to the sax and went on to become the bassist of a death metal band and even an MC – will prove to those present that his unique recipe, which combines dubstep bass with lyrics inspired by dark fantasies, is addictive.
