Last two sections of Bucharest beltway to cost over EUR 100 M

The design and construction of the last two sections of the Bucharest beltway, sections that will link it with the A1 and A2 Highways (running towards Pitesti and Constanta respectively), will cost up to RON 424.67 M (EUR 100.4 M), VAT not included, and will last 21 months since the signing of the contract, Mediafax informs. The contract is financed from the state budget and will span 69 months (3 months for design, 18 months for actual construction works and 48 months warranty), a National Roads and Highway Company communiqué shows.  The two ends of the beltway, totaling 20.14 kilometers, have to be completed in order for the road ring to be closed, so the tender has been split into two batches.  In order to take part in the tender the interested investors have to file their bids separately for each batch, as well as collaterals of RON 3.05 M for the first batch and RON 5.4 M for the second batch. The bids can be filed until August 10.
