Renault will launch next year, in India, a variant of its SUV Duster adapted to this market, which will be manufactured at Chennai, the carmaker said yesterday, just days after its announcement about a Duster version destined to the markets of Brazil, Argentina and Colombia, Mediafax informs. Same as in Latin America, the Indian Duster will be marketed as Renault Duster. Renault will launch five models in India until the end of next year, and is also developing a countrywide network of services that will help it increase its share of the local market. The first model brought by Renault to the Indian market is Fluence, in May, followed by Koleus on the premium SUV segment, and by the Duster now. The Indian market soars by about 20 pc a year, from 1.2 million new automobiles in 2005 to an estimated 3 million in 2011. By 2015, Renault estimates India will become the fourth largest market in the world.
