Hungarian pharmaceutical company Gedeon Richter aims to hike its turnover in Romania by 5 per cent to approximately EUR 144 M this year, Mediafax informs. Nevertheless, the company estimates a worsening of problems on the distribution segment against the backdrop of long terms of payments for subsidized pharmaceutical drugs. According to a company report, in 2010 Gedeon Romania reported sales of EUR 137.3 M. Thus, last year Romania generated 14 per cent of Gedeon Richter’s total sales, being on second place behind Russia (26 per cent). Sales in Hungary came on third place (12 per cent). In Romania Gedeon owns a pharmaceutical plant in Targu-Mures, the Pharmapharm distributor and a network of 119 pharmacies.
