The ninth edition of the Tuborg Green Fest Peninsula will kick off, in style, with a concert by the German band Guano Apes, scheduled for August 25, Maximum Rock informs. The emblematic crossover band will be back in Romania for its first concert in Transylvania, after delighting the Bucharest public in the 2009 edition of the Tuborg Green Fest, in Izvor Park.
Also in the rock category, the concert of the Cluj-based band Grimus promises to be one of the highlights of the festival, especially as it will include songs from their latest album, “Egretta”, to be launched in Romania in October.
However, rock is not the only genre well represented in this year’s edition of the Tuborg Green Fest Peninsula, as electronic music can boast a fine line-up as well. Alongside heavyweight names such as Nick Warren (house) or Borgore (dubstep), the longest parties of the summer will benefit from the expertise of the likes of Reality Engine, Stereo Palma, Suie Paparude and the latest combination of talents made in Romania, R.O.A. (Rise of Artificial).
Reality Engine, a New York musical avant-garde trio, interweaves electronic rhythms with the special effects associated to a holographic visual show, taking their live concerts to the next level and offering their fans a unique combination of music and visual sound. This year’s edition of the Tuborg Green Fest brings on the stage in Targu Mures the Reality Engine style, a mixture of progressive house and techno, rhythms which find their perfect reflection in the visual effects, bringing in the limelight the art behind the turntables.
Suie Paparude needs no introduction, as they are on the list of bands guaranteed to offer a hell of a party and festival regulars are never tired of hearing Michi, Dobrica and Bean do their thing on stage.
The Tuborg Green Fest Peninsula will take place between August 25 and 28, 2011, in Targu Mures, in the vicinity of the Weekend Leisure Complex, by the Mures River. Tickets are on sale in the Eventim network and online, on www.eventim.ro.
Tuborg Green Fest has toured across Europe, with line-ups including the likes of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, Linkin Park, Guano Apes, Franz Ferdinand, Cypress Hill, David Guetta, Faithless, Kasabian or White Snake. In 2010, Tuborg organized the greatest rock festival Romania has seen so far – Tuborg Green Fest presented by Sonisphere Festival, bringing before Romanian fans names like Metallica, Rammstein, Manowar, Slayer, Anathema or Megadeth.
