There were more of them, but few were left of those who were acknowledged, from the beginning, as a very fine generation of actors, the class on 1961 of the “I.L. Caragiale” Institute of Theatrical and Cinematic Art (now, UNATC). They will convene today at the Odeon Theatre, to mark the 50th anniversary of their graduation, and Sanda Manu, who taught classes to a number of them, will call the roll. The names called out will include those of Stefan Tapalaga, Gheorghe Dinica, Catalina Murgea, Marin Moraru (photo), Dorina Lazar, Melania Ursu, Ileana Angelescu-Zarnescu, Traian Stanescu, Candid Stoica, Marian Hudac, Vasile Gheorghiu, Raul Ferrano, Alexandru Lazar and many others. They were divided, at the Institute, in four classes, coordinated by: Ion Fintesteanu – Sanda Manu; George Dem. Loghin – Horea Popescu and Lucian Giurchescu; Moni Ghelerter – Sorana Coroama; Dina Cocea – Ion Cojar.
