Four killed, two injured in terrible car crash in Cluj

Four persons were killed and two others were seriously injured in a car crash that took place on Monday morning in Cluj County. According to police officers, the car crash took place around 7.10 AM, on National Road 16 in the Ghirisul Roman locality, at the administrative border between Cluj and Mures Counties. A car and a van collided head-on. Four persons were killed in the impact, while two others were taken to hospital. The four persons that lost their lives were in the car hit by the utility van. The utility van’s driver suffered serious injuries, while a passenger sustained light injuries.

Four SMURD ambulances and two extrication crews from the emergency situations inspectorates of the Mures and Cluj Counties intervened.

Cluj County Police spokesperson Alma Brehariu-Bruja stated for Mediafax that the car crash took place after a utility van entered the opposite lane where it frontally collided with a properly-driver car. Traffic was blocked for several hours in the area.
