After a five years’ marriage and four months’ legal hassle, Monica and Irinel Columbeanu’s divorce was pronounced, yesterday, by the Buftea Court. According to Realitatea TV, Monica requested to revert to her maiden name, so that she will henceforth be called, once again, Gabor. The two spouses have yet to bury the hatchet, one of the bones of contention being the custody of their daughter, Irina. Thus, if, initially, Monica had given her consent to the decision that the four-year-old be left with her father, it appears that disputes over the visitation programme determined the ex-Mrs. Columbeanu to change her mind. On the other hand, Monica was displeased with a condition set by the businessman, that is, an interdiction from taking Irina along with her, in the event of leaving the country. Irinel’s lawyer claimed, quoted by Antena 3, that there was every likelihood that his client maintained custody of the child, as hearings on this topic are in progress.
