Chamber adopts bill to eliminate fee-paying places from public universities

The Chamber of Deputies tacitly adopted a bill initiated by Democratic Liberal Party (PDL) MPs Catalin Croitoru and Petru Filip, proposing the elimination of fee-paying places from public universities. The bill, modifying law 1/2011, for national education, stipulates that, within public institutions of higher education, tuition is free for the number of students approved, annually, by the Government.TThe Senate is the deciding body on this bill, however, and senators will vote on it during the autumn session.
