The speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Roberta Anastase said yesterday, during a debate on children, that she submitted to the Parliament a draft law about setting up the institution of the Ombudsman for Children. Attending the event, Senate speaker Mircea Geoana voiced his support for the idea. “I saw many children who know their rights, but do not know where they should go in order to find solutions to their problems,” Anastase said. “I energetically support the idea of setting up an Ombudsman for Children. Unfortunately, it was rejected by the Senate in 2009, to my regret, but we will all work better this time (…),” Geoana stated.
