PSD Alba Iulia headquarters broken into

The Social Democrat Party’s headquarters in Alba Iulia was broken into on Tuesday night by yet unidentified assailants. No goods or documents were taken and police have started an investigation into the case, Mediafax reported.

The head of the organization, Ioan Darzu, said yesterday that the event was political in nature, because the perpetrators seemed to be interested only in the party’s data base and not in other goods in the building. Darzu explained that the only room in which the perpetrators entered was the one hosting the party’s computers, which contain information about party members. “We don’t know if they copied anything of the data,” he added. When asked who could be interested in PSD Alba’s data base, Darzu said this information is a party’s “most valuable thing” and it’s normal that political rivals are interested in it.
