Dan Ioan Popescu describes ICCJ ruling as aberrant

Dan Ioan Popescu, a former Social-Democrat minister, told Mediafax that the ruling by the High Court of Cassation and Justice (ICCJ) <Romania’s Supreme Court> seizing over 4 M RON of his financial assets is aberrant and he would continue the trial both “in the country and abroad”.  “This is an aberrant decision following seven years of technical and accounting expert examinations that proved not only that I justified the revenues spent, but even a revenue surplus, starting from the naught line in 2000, as if I became a minister right after I was born,” Dan Ioan Popescu said. “I will continue the trial both in the country and abroad until I find a justice system that acknowledges official documents,” Dan Ioan Popescu said. The ICCJ ruled Thursday the seizing of over RON 4 M of the financial assets of former Social-Democrat minister Dan Ioan Popescu and his wife. The ruling is challengeable on appeal.
